Seedball – artist’s meadow tin

£6.00 inc. Vat

The Artist’s Meadow Seedball tin comes from a collaboration between Seedball and Devon artist Yvonne Coomber. Inspired by the wildflowers growing outside her studio, Yvonne painted a canvas called ‘Here Is Where All The Wildflowers Grow’. A section of this painting appears on the Artist’s Meadow tin, with the seed mix being of those flowers from the painting.

A seedball is a mini ecosystem, protecting your seeds from birds, ants and slugs and giving them nutrition as they germinate and grow. As the wildflower seeds are encased in clay and peat-free compost, they are essentially already “planted”. Simply scatter onto bare soil or compost. The outer clay helps to prevent birds and insects from eating the seeds, keeping the seeds nicely protected.

Seedball are an award-winning non-profit company on a mission to help increase the abundance of British wildflowers and wildlife that depend upon them. ‘We believe that if we can all better use whatever space we have available to us (whether a back garden, balcony, window box, little patio etc) we can together have a hugely beneficial impact on our local ecosystems.’

  • 1 tin (approx 6cm diameter) of Butterfly Mix contains 20 seedballs, enough to cover 1 metre square in a garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball).
  • Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Common Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Musk Mallow, Corn Marigold, Purple Field Scabious, Red Campion and White Cow Parsley.
  • Best scattered in Spring or Autumn.
  • Fold out instruction leaflet in tin lid.
